Aditional emails:

  • Please note the following:
  • cleats are ok but no metal cleats
  • no food of any kind in particular sunflower seeds and peanuts
  • no gum
  • no alcohol or sugared drinks
  • no smoking

People will be patrolling the fields and you'll get bounced and pay a $50 fine (first time) if we have problems with any of the above. Please let all your players know. Thanks.

ASKED BY A USER: "Does "no sugared drinks" means Gatorade, or are we talking just soda? I think putting restrictions on Gatorade and the like for any kind of facilities where athletes play is a little insane? Similarly with Power Bars and the like."

THE RESPONSE: No sugared drinks. No food of any kind. Pretty clear. The reason for this is that the fields are plastic and aren't getting watered. So your spilled sticky Gatorade sits on the surface until the field gets a heavy rain. We've got about 3,000 people a week using the fields so in a month of no rain we've got the food crumbs and spilled drinks from 12,000 people. All of this makes the field a mess and helps the bacteria grow.

Drink your Gatorade outside the field, ditto your Power Bars. Need to hydrate on the field- drink water. Let everyone on your team know.
