Answer: You can try the old method of coming out on a Sunday, checking out the various teams (over 60 at last count) and inquire to openings and practice. You can also post to the Message Board (but make sure you provide a way to contact you!)
HOW CAN I FIND PLAYERS?
Answer: Try posting an ad to the Message Board (don't forget to leave an email and/or a phone number so interested players may contact you).
WHY ISN'T THE ENTIRE SCHEDULE POSTED?
Answer: As much as the league would love to provide each team with a full schedule for the remaining season, it is not currently possible to do so. Oftentimes an event will cause the Park and Recreation Department to change or eliminate fields that were previously scheduled. Rather than have to consistently change the schedules, the league will only provide the schedules when it is most likely not to be changed. For this reason the league only provides the schedule about 3 to 4 weeks in advance.
WHEN DO YOU UPDATE THE STANDINGS?
Answer: The goal is to update no later than Wednesday morning. Unfortunately, the scores are not always received early enough to update. I assure you that as soon as they are received, they are updated within one to two days.
WHO CLOSES THE FIELDS?
Answer: SFSFL does not close the fields. The San Francisco's Park and Recreation Department owns the fields and thus has a responsibility to everyone that uses the fields, not just soccer, that the fields are in shape to be used throughout the year. It is highly probable that we will get a full season in--we've been doing it for a 100 years and there have been only rare stoppages.
